What is the Annual Information Statement (AIS)?
The Annual Information Statement (AIS) is a comprehensive statement containing details of financial transactions done by you and reported by various entities (mostly financial institutions) to the tax department during the financial year. This includes receipt/income from different sources such as salary, interest, or sale or purchase of securities such as equity shares, mutual funds, bonds, etc.

AIS for Taxpayers: Taxpayers can share feedback
Taxpayers will get an option to share feedback on the displayed information on the AIS app. Each section displays both reported and modified values that have been adjusted based on feedback from the taxpayers.

What can you check on ‘AIS for Taxpayers’?
This app can be used to view the information related to TDS, TCS, interest, dividends, share transactions, tax payments, specified financial transactions, payment of taxes, and income tax refunds, including GST data and foreign remittances as available in the AIS/TIS.

How to download ‘AIS for Taxpayers ?
Taxpayers can download the ‘AIS for Taxpayers’ app from Google Store or Apple App Store. Once it is installed, the taxpayers need to register using their PAN and date of birth. Then they have to authenticate with the OTP sent to their registered mobile number and e-mail on the income tax e-filing portal. After authentication, they can set a 4-digit PIN to access the app.

How is AIS different from Form 26AS
AIS is the extension of Form 26AS. Form 26AS displays details of property purchases, high-value investments, and TDS/TCS transactions carried out during the financial year. AIS additionally includes savings account interest, dividends, rent received, purchase and sale transactions of securities/immovable properties, foreign remittances, interest on deposits, GST turnover, etc.

Is there any limit on the number of times you can modify a given feedback?
Currently, there is no limit on the number of times you can modify previously given feedback.
